KUALA LUMPUR Jan 18, 2015:
A video involving two employees of fast-food chain outlet Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fighting each other is going viral on social media.
The 36 second-long video, believed to have been filmed by a customer waiting in line at the KFC outlet, here, in Jalan Raja Laut showed a female staff hurling insults and abuse before fighting with a delivery boy.
While another staff tries to ease the situation, another male staff launches a flying kick at the same delivery boy before the brawl moved towards the kitchen area.
In a statement regarding the incident, KFC Malaysia senior vice-president M.J. Ling confirmed that the incident which happened on Friday night involved two siblings over a private matter.
“It has come to our attention that there has been a video circulating in the digital sphere involving KFC staff.
“The incident that happened last night at the KFC Jalan Raja Laut outlet involving our staff is highly regrettable.”
Ling said following the incident the company’s management had initiated an extensive internal investigation to fully understand the cause of this incident.
“KFC conducts extensive training on what is expected of our staff when working at our restaurants, but obviously this has failed on this occasion.
“Rest assured that we will improve on our existing programmes, so as to avoid incidents of this nature from happening again.”
The video posted by the “We Are The Boss” Facebook group, has since seen 560 likes and 1,263 shares after it was uploaded at 11pm on Jan 16.
