Don’t take Malaysians for fools, Najib told

PETALING JAYA: Raub MP Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz has accused Prime Minister Najib Razak of insulting the intelligence of Malaysians with the story about donations worth RM2.6 billion going into his personal bank accounts.

In his latest blog posting, Ariff raises the possibility that MACC has been “pressured or paid to change its story”.

He also speculates that Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz is currently under pressure to declare that the central bank had given its approval when the funds were deposited into Najib’s accounts. However, he quotes rumours that Zeti is resisting the pressure.

“Woe unto the Malays if they all buy the latest story from Najib and his minions,” Ariff writes. “They would then be people who have been turned into fools.”

Like A Kadir Jasin and several other bloggers, Ariff poses the rhetorical question of why Najib did not declare the funds as donations as his immediate response to allegations that the money came from 1MDB.

“Everyone knows that this is a lie from the wicked camp that is Najib’s,” he says. “If the funds were indeed donations or contributions, the story would have surfaced as soon as the Wall Street Journal or Sarawak Report or any other party had exposed the issue. Why wait until so long after the exposure? Doesn’t this raise the suspicion that Najib’s gang needed time to spin the story? Is Najib surrounded by retards?”

Even if Najib and his cohorts consider all Malays to be fools, Ariff says, they have no right to think the same of the Malaysian race.

“Then again, perhaps Najib thinks that only the 3.2 million Umno members can be fooled,” he adds. But he reminds Najib that the 3.2 million Umno members who, he thinks, support him could also be supporters of sacked deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
