‘MACC should reveal names of RM2.6 billion donors’

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should reveal the list of donors and the amount they donated to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak as per their findings.
Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa said the donors should also be investigated to determine their motive for channelling such a huge amount of donations.
He said that in accordance to Section 165 of the Penal Code, it is an offence for the Prime Minister to receive funds personally without any reason if the donor has a relationship or interests over Najib’s official duties.

“So MACC has to reveal who would donate such an amount without expecting anything in return,” he said through his official Facebook last night.

Yesterday evening, the anti-graft agency issued a statement stating that the RM2.6 billion channelled into Najib’s personal bank account came from public donations instead of the national sovereign fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
MACC explained that the finding was the result of its investigation into 1MDB’s former subsidiary company, SRC International.
It also said that the report had been submitted to the Attorney-General.
