The announcement on the gathering appeared on several blogs and it called on both Umno and PAS members to join it.
In one of the postings that supports the group, headed by Datuk Jamal Yunus and believed to be anti-Bersih, asked participants to wear red shirts on that day.
Jamal, however, when contacted denied that his group was organising the gathering.
“I can confirm that it will be held on Sept 16 but it is not by us, it will be another group. They will issue a formal statement next Tuesday.
“We will join them,” he told theSun.
