IGP must stop using Twitter to give orders

The Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar must stop using Twitter to give orders to his officers.

Former Police Chief, Tan Sri Rahim Noor said, the act is seen as not beneficial to Khalid’s underlings.

“To me, the act of giving order (using Twitter), must stop, if it is really true. Do not let other people know what our orders are to our men, I do not see any benefits in doing so.

“These orders are internal affairs, it must stay within the inner circle. Any police review regarding small, sensitive, insensitive, half sensitive must stay inside the circle, it must never leave the boundary,” he said to Sinar Harian after attending the 39th Wacana Sinar Harian , yesterday.

Rahim was asked to comment on Khalid’s action of using Twitter to gave orders to his officers and police members in order to  conduct investigations or actions.

However, quoting a portal report of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, he did not see any misconduct in Khalid’s action.

Meanwhile, Rahim personally thinks he will resign the post as Police Chief if an investigation of a major case was not done according to law.

“This is not a small matter, this is a matter of principal.

“If police investigation clearly said there is a case to be established and charged, and it was decided as so, to me it is a matter of principal, and integrity,” he said.
