Family's business connections may provide clue in Taman OUG shooting, says police

Police are closely examining the nature of the business operated by a female real estate agent, who was fatally gunned down in Taman OUG yesterday.

The family's business, said police, could possibly provide a clue to uncovering the motive of the drive-by shooting, which also left the woman's daughter critically injured.

City Criminal Investigation Department senior assistant commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said police are not leaving out any angles in their investigation.

"Our initial investigation showed that the husband of the victim runs a cosmetics business.

"We are now checking if there are other businesses connected with the case," he said.

Meanwhile, Rusdi said the woman's eight-year-old daughter, who was also shot, is now in stable condition.

"She will be undergoing a second surgery to remove a slug from her heart," he said.

Rusdi said a post-mortem exam would be conducted on the girl's mother today at the University Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

Yesterday, the 32-year-old real estate agent was shot dead at point blank in a drive-by shooting in Taman OUG.

Two men on a motorcycle had pulled up alongside her Toyota Vellfire and fired off five shots, one of which struck her in the neck, killing her.

Her daughter, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was also shot during the 2.28pm incident.

In the vehicle with her were her five children and a maid.
