Lim ‘hurt’ DAP not invited to communist party’s congress

PETALING JAYA: Lim Guan Eng says he is “hurt” that the Communist Party of China (CPC) did not invite the DAP to its upcoming congress.

Mocking the communist label that DAP’s rivals have often branded them with, Guan Eng, who is the party’s secretary-general, said some had taken it too far by even claiming that his father was related to Chin Peng, a former Communist Party Malaya (CPM) leader.

“But who was invited to the CPC congress? DAP wasn’t and I’m hurt.

“We are a communist party, why were we not invited?” he told a crowd at the “Love Malaysia, End Kleptocracy” rally here today.

Also present were Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PH president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, and PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin.

Earlier this month, it was reported that an Umno representative would address the 19th national congress of the CPC in China on October 18.

According to Umno Online, the party’s secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he appreciated the close ties between Umno and the CPC.

On a separate note, Guan Eng said he did not want Malaysia to be ruled by a party that had gone crazy.

“The whole world says we are corrupt, yet the government says we are still clean.

“Only crazy people can say such things and there is no cure for this.”-FMT NEWS-
