- UPDATE: Tun Dr Mahathir's inauguration as Malaysia's Prime Minister meant to be held at 9:30am today has been cancelled, according to Sumisha Naidu of Channel NewsAsia
- Apparently, police have blocked the National palace entrance and one police officer had told the reporter, "The government has not been formed. Nothing is happening here."
We have yet to receive any updates on when the inauguration will actually take place. - This will be Tun Mahathir’s second time being Malaysia's Prime Minister. He was previously the fourth Prime Minister from 16 July 1981 to 31 October 2003.
- At a press conference at 2:45am this morning, Mahathir said that he will appoint Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the deputy prime minister once he is sworn in
- "We will also work on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's pardon so that he can be the prime minister in waiting. But before that, he must stand for elections after pardoned because one can only become prime minister if he is an MP or a senator," he said.Dr Mahathir said that he has not heard from incumbent Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Barisan Nasional's defeat in the GE14.However, he added that, "We will not seek revenge but we will restore the laws of the country."
- Some changes on plan. Police block the entrance to Istana.
