BREAKING: Deputy public prosecutor, seconded to MACC, believed to be missing

A prominent deputy public prosecutor has been reported missing and a city wide alert has been activated by police to ascertain his whereabouts.

Kevin Anthony Morais of the Attorney-Generals Chambers (AGC), who was formerly seconded to the Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) as deputy director of prosecution, was last seen leaving his apartment in Menara Duta for work on Friday morning.

Later that day, a friend tried contacting him, but the calls went unanswered, sources told The Rakyat Post.

When checks at his office revealed he had failed to turn up for work, the friend contacted Kevin’s cousin, Datuk Richard Morais, who lodged a report at the Jinjang police station just before 6pm today.

Kevin’s disappearance has gone viral as an appeal from the family for information on his whereabouts is sought.

Sources say he was last seen in his official government-issued vehicle bearing registration plate number WA 6264 Q.

Meanwhile, MACC sources disclosed that Kevin had returned to the AGC after completing his tour of duty with MACC.

“He had served as a key prosecuting officer with MACC,” the source disclosed.
