Anina felt unable to win so she withdrew her lawsuit, says Ku Nan

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor accused ex-Umno member Anina Saadudin today of withdrawing her lawsuits against the party leaders out of fear of losing.

"Well, it's normal, maybe she felt that she's unable to win so she withdrew her lawsuit against me and Datuk Seri Najib [Razak]," Tengku Adnan told reporters today, referring to the prime minister and Umno president.

Anina yesterday withdrew two lawsuits — one against Najib in seeking the return of the RM2.6 billion donation he had received to Umno's coffers and another against Tengku Adnan and Umno executive secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh over the termination of her Umno membership after she took Najib to court.

News portal Malaysiakini yesterday reported the former Langkawi Umno Wanita division chief as saying that her decision to withdraw the lawsuits was made as she is now a member of a new party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

“Therefore, all my actions made in my capacity as an Umno member, or my action to challenge my expulsion from Umno, is no longer relevant," she was quoted saying at a press conference at her lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla's office.
