DAP assemblyman calls Guan Eng to take lead for two-term limit

Penang DAP should take the lead in implementing the two-term limit on the position of Chief Minister, DAP assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu said.

Teh, who is Tanjung Bungah assemblyman, said that the term limit should also apply to the position of Prime Minister and Mentri Besar.

"The two-term limit can prevent misuse of power. I appeal to DAP to take the lead starting from Penang.

"I appeal to DAP sec-gen Lim Guan Eng to take the lead, with his position as a Chief Minister, to make this his legacy in political reform," Teh told a press conference at his service centre in Jalan Osman bin Abdul Rahman, Tanjung Bungah on Monday.

He asked Lim to consider the proposal 'before it is too late'.

"Make this your legacy, while you still have the position. Not like Mukhriz.

"Now he can only talk and is not able to act on it.

Teh was commenting on Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia pro-tem vice president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir comments that the party would propose limiting the Prime Minister’s post to two terms if they form government.
