Pakatan Harapan needs more time to discuss the possibility of having snap polls in Penang.
This was the outcome of the discussion between Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and several PKR leaders in Komtar here today.
Emerging after the nearly two-hour discussion, Lim said the issue (of having snap polls) needed further discussion before a final decision is made.
"I just want to stress that there will be no unilateral decision by DAP on this.
"We will continue to consult with our Pakatan partners before a final decision is announced," he said.
Also present were PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and PKR co-elections director Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Meanwhile, Azmin described the meeting as fruitful. "We will discuss this further with the PKR leadership before we comment further on the matter," he added.
The statement by Lim puts to rest speculation since this morning that the state was heading towards a snap polls.
