Lee Chong Wei will now go through to the men's singles final after emerging victorious at the end of a classic showdown with Lin Dan at the Rio Olympics.
The rubber match ended 22-20.
Lee lost the first set 15-21, but recovered swiftly to take the second set 21-11, and then the third 22-20.
With this latest score, Malaysia is guaranteed at least another silver tomorrow night when the men’s singles will be decided.
Malaysia has so far won two silvers and one bronze medal in this Olympics.
