MCA said today it has begun identifying its candidates for the next general election, due by June 2018.

MCA Youth chief Senator Chong Sin Woon said the party was also organising various programmes to endear itself to the people.

The MCA set up a committee on the 14th general election (GE14) way back in 2014 under party deputy president Dr Wee Ka Siong, he said when launching the 37th Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Lantern Festival programme at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur.

Chong said MCA served not just one community but all Malaysians, and the party needed more support, not more members.

The UKM lantern festival programme would be held during the first semester of this year, with the aim of getting more students from the other communities to understand the festival.
