MCA is one of the most popular political parties in Malaysia, said MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
Speaking to delegates at the opening of the Subang MCA division’s annual general meeting, Liow said that this was the finding of an online survey conducted by a Singapore-based organisation.
“The results showed that MCA was liked by the people because we have done a lot,” he added.
Liow said that people had turned away from the party because they were tired of the infighting and the split in the party.
“However, I can see that many – including party veterans – have come back to support us after our transformation programmes,” said Liow.
He added that MCA must be strong for party leaders to play their roles and provide a check-and-balance in the government.
”We must stay united to become stronger,” he said.
