Face me first, Mukhriz tells Nazri

Face me first before you go after my father, said Tun Dr Mahathir's son Mukhriz Mahathir.
That is the challenge issued by former Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir to Umno supreme council member Mohamed Nazri Aziz, who has been a harsh critic of Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“I, as the son of Tun Mahathir, will face him (Nazri). If he wants to fight, go through me first,” Mukhriz was quoted as saying in ismaweb.net in reference to the tourism minister’s recent remark that he was willing to engage in a fistfight with the former prime minister.
“Maybe he has lost his mind to say something like that. Insane, but holding a minister’s post? This is the standard of our ministers today,” Mukhriz said in a Save Malaysia Movement event in Felda LBJ in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, last night.
Nazri passed the remark while commenting on the government’s decision to withdraw police outrider services for his father Tun Mahathir.

On a separate issue, Mukhriz expressed his worry that youths these days were shying away from Umno.
“They (youths) associate the majority of issues faced by the people today, with Umno. This poses a perception crisis for the party.
“As a political party, we (Umno) cannot survive without the support of the people. No political party can exist without the people’s support,” he said, adding that it was crucial for the rakyat to accept Umno’s struggle, and show their support for the party in the form of votes in the next general election.
