Red Shirts chief Ali Tinju files police report over alleged death threat from Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Yunos.

Alleging he was on the receiving end of a death threat from an Umno division chief, Red Shirts leader Mohd Ali Baharom said he is not afraid, and instead responded with a challenge to a fist fight.
Ali, who is more wellknown as Ali Tinju, today alleged that Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos threatened to beat him up and shoot him, following a statement the former made that Barisan Nasional (BN) would lose badly should Jamal be a candidate in the upcoming Sungai Besar by-election.
Having lodged a police report on the alleged death threat today, Ali Tinju claimed Jamal made the threats in a phone call yesterday.
“I want to advice Jamal not to be arrogant and egotistical with the pistol he has. This country has laws. His action only serves to humiliate Umno.
“If Jamal shoots an Umno member, that is if he shoots me, Datuk Seri Najib’s warrior, then who is going to look after Datuk Seri Najib and Datin Seri Rosmah?

“I don’t have any interests, so why shoot me? I’m Ali Tinju, I’m not shaken. If Datuk Jamal wants to fight, find a ring and punch it out with me, that is if he is man enough.
“Don’t think because you have money, you can pay people. We are an NGO, we are not stupid,” Ali Tinju said.
“I repeat what I said before, if Datuk Jamal stands in Sungai Besar, it is akin to the people choosing a gangster in Umno and BN politics. In fact, Datuk Seri Najib and Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi never taught any Umno division leaders to become gangsters,” he told reporters after lodging the police report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters here, today.

Meanwhile, Ali Tinju also claimed that Jamal had handed his gun to another person during the Red Shirts rally in Kuala Lumpur on September 16 last year.
“I ask that the IGP (Inspector-General of Police) revoke the firearm licence given to Datuk Jamal because during the Red Shirts rally, Datuk Jamal took his pistol out and handed it over to someone else for safekeeping,” Ali Tinju alleged.
He added that as an Umno division chief, Jamal must know the law, which is why he wanted Jamal’s firearm licence to be revoked.
Meanwhile, Jamal told FMT that he did not wish to make any comments on the police report and other allegations made by Ali Tinju.
