KUALA LUMPUR: The roads were clear in the city as rehearsals for the National Day parade at Dataran Merdeka here went on without a hitch.
There were a few there were glimpses of protesters in Kuala Lumpur ahead of the Bersih 4 rally at around 9am, with a few protesters wearing yellow attire were seen meeting near Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Pasar Seni.
Following Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) announcement that Dataran Merdeka and Padang Merbok were out of bounds for the upcoming rally, Bersih co-chair Maria Chin Abdullah said the people will only protest "within the vicinity of Dataran Merdeka".
Maria said they would reject offers for an alternative place as they are set on gathering at Dataran Merdeka because it was a historic spot.
