DAP Parliamentary Leader Lim Kit Siang took the unusual step, perhaps unprecedented, of more than hinting that he may pursue Minister for Rural and Regional Development Ismail Sabri Yaakob in court if the latter doesn’t apologize to him for “nefarious” lies about him (Lim). “I am prepared to forgive him (for the nefarious lies) if he apologizes.”

“I will not let the matter rest.”

Lim, who is also Gelang Patah MP, added in a softer tone that he may alternatively bring the matter up in Parliament.

The DAP veteran was disclosing his three tweets earlier to Ismail Sabri.

@IsmailSabri60 You can run, you cannot hide. Where are your examples to substantiate your allegation that I had been anti-Malay anti-Islam?

Most shocking in this holy month of Ramadan @IsmailSabri60 can still tell such nefarious lies. Am prepared to forgive you if you apologize.

If @IsmailSabri60 does not apologize, I will pursue the issue whether in Parliament or the courts. Ball in your court. Over to you.

There has been “thunderous silence” from Ismail who had “pretensions” that he’s one of the most Internet-savvy Cabinet Ministers in the country, continued Lim.

He confessed that he had hoped to make some money from Ismail Sabri. “He seems to have realized that he’s on a slippery slope which would be very costly for him.”

“If he has now realized that he had wrongly defamed me, he should have the honesty and decency to publicly apologize for telling baseless lies and falsehoods about me, especially in this holy month of Ramadan.”

Silence was no option, warned Lim. “Either he cite examples to substantiate his allegation that I had been anti-Malay and anti-Islam in my 50 years in politics, or he should without any delay publicly apologize for making baseless allegations against me in this holy month of Ramadan.”

Unlike Ismail Sabri, the DAP Leader alleged that he can cite a list of the racist speeches by him (Ismail Sabri) and other Umno leaders, including the former’s infamous call to Malays last year to boycott Chinese businesses.

He recalled that Ismail Sabri had claimed, in recent days, that he can compile a whole book to prove that he was anti-Malay and anti-Islam. “I told him the book can wait,” stressed Lim. “I told him to cite an instance a day up to the by-election polling day on Saturday 18 June 2016 that I had been anti-Malay and anti-Islam in 50 years in politics.”

Three days have passed, lamented Lim, and Ismail Sabri already owes him three examples. “He should up come up with one example a day on Friday and Saturday, to produce a total of five examples in time for the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections. “That should be ‘chicken-feed’ since he claimed that he could compile a book, which should have at least 100 examples.”
