Keep racial tactics out of Sekinchan, MCA has told DAP
politicians following yesterday’s issue over provocative billboards.
The incident was characteristic of DAP politicians’
arrogance, said MCA Youth National Chairman Chong Sin Woon.
He alleged that a number of DAP politicians had hurled abuse
at Election Commission (EC) officers after being told to take the billboards
down.
Among those who had allegedly scolded the EC officers were
Segambut lawmaker Lim Lip Eng and former Selangor DAP Exco Member Ronnie Liu,
said Chong, who also chairs the Sungai Besar MCA by-election steering
committee.
“Such slanderous billboards have not only incurred
dissatisfaction among Sekinchan Chinese voters but also unleashed unnecessary
controversy,” said Chong in a statement today.
Chong said DAP MP Teresa Kok’s initial denial that DAP had
mounted the billboards proved their lack of integrity, considering how it
contradicted the later admission by fellow MP Tony Pua.
“These self-contradictory words prove at least one person is
lying. (This) reverts to the integrity of the party … which denied staging the
billboards,” Chong said.
The “Rocket”, Chong said, had “crashed” in its efforts to
attack Barisan Nasional candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi and had instead resulted
in inciting hatred.
“MCA foresees that in the final days approaching polling day
on June 18, 2016, more sweeping, insidious slander will intensify,” Chong said.
“We urge all Sekinchan voters to consider appropriately and
reject DAP’s political hatred, not only because there is an on-going
by-election, but to prevent this rustic town from being destroyed by distrust
and provocations.
“MCA also urges DAP Sekinchan Assemblyman YB Ng Suee Lim to
be brave enough to reject DAP’s hatred campaigning tactics in this beautiful
town.”
