Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah today warned that he will introduce his “black shirts” into the mix if Umno’s Datuk Jamal Yunos and Bersih 2.0 continue to hold rival rallies.
The Pertubuhan Martabat Julinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) president criticised both groups for their respective rallies, and said the two were equally responsible for the resulting clashes.
“This yellow and red shirts, they can’t blame each other. Both parties are at fault, they don’t follow the laws in the country.
“If they go ahead with the rally, don’t make me intervene with my black shirts group. They will be afraid then,” the serial police report lodger told the press today in front of the Dang Wangi police station.
Jamal’s pro-establishment group is informally called the “red shirts” movement while Bersih 2.0 is known for its iconic yellow.
Rani did not explain what his group stood for or if it was sympathetic to either of the other two.
He also claimed that he will attend the Bersih 5 rally on a horse if the electoral watchdog group insists on proceeding with the event.
“They should not do anything on November 19. If they do, the police should arrest them all. If they still go ahead, I will hire a horse and appear in front of them on a horse,” he said without explaining the significance of the equestrian element.
Rani then told both groups to cancel all their rallies, saying this would prevent any untoward incidents.
Members of Jamal’s group clashed with those from Bersih 2.0 during the latter’s Perak stop of its nationwide convoy on Saturday.
The polls reform group is currently on a nationwide convoy ahead of its Bersih 5 rally in Kuala Lumpur on November 19.
