Issues relating to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) lawsuits cannot be discussed in Parliament as it is subjudice, said Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.

The Dewan Rakyat speaker said that the matter was still in court and so could not be discussed in Parliament.

“In fact, there is no need for a written reply either as that would be subjudice as well.

“I have made my decision, and it’s not the kind of decision I made in haste, I thought it through,” he said during the question and answer session on Monday.

Pandikar added that he would present his decision in writing to all members of the house to disallow discussions on the lawsuits.

Opposition MPs Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Gelang Patah) and Gobind Singh (DAP-Puchong) said this decision was unfair.

“The subjudice is in another country. So how does it apply to us here?” asked Lim.
