Various authorities have confirmed that certain funds in Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal accounts came from Saudi Arabia.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) suggesting that their reporting on 1MDB has never been called into question was not only disingenuous but an outright lie, said 1MDB in a statement. “Contrary to the WSJ’s baseless and unproven allegations, the company has consistently maintained that it has not paid any funds into the personal accounts of the Prime Minister.”

The company, owned by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and touted as a strategic development and investment arm, was commenting on a WSJ report on Thursday that monies from the company entered Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal accounts through various companies linked to it.

According to the company, multiple lawful authorities including the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC), the Attorney-General, and various reputable international publications, “have confirmed that these funds came from Saudi Arabia”.
