Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says rakyat doesn’t want to see Opposition parties constantly attacking each other.
PETALING JAYA: People want to see a united Opposition, not one that is constantly attacking each other and weakening their ties.
This observation was made by PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man in a statement today.
He said the Opposition must be seen as partners in a dialogue, working towards developing the country.
He lamented there was a lot of confusion in the Opposition at present.
While the party’s number two did not specifically allude to any incident, PKR and DAP have been engaged in a war of words over seat allocations in the impending Sarawak election.
DAP-led Penang also decided to sack two PKR assemblymen from their posts in state-linked companies after the duo abstained from voting on a land reclamation motion put forward by the BN.
It was time, Tuan Ibrahim said, for Opposition politicians “to rise above” all the rhetoric.
“Let us be mature and think about how we can find a way to guarantee a better future for Malaysia.”
On a separate matter, he said PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang’s proposal for a “technocratic government” must be explored.
He argued that this could see a reduction in the narrow politics practised by some quarters, abuse of power and dictatorship.
