Three cops detained by MACC for re-selling cloned cars

Case involves the sale of seized cars sold without filing a police report

SEREMBAN: Three policemen from the Criminal Intelligence Branch (D4) were detained by the Negeri Sembilan branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with a case involving the re-selling of cloned cars.

According to an MACC statement today, the trio, aged 27, 36, and 54, who were stationed at the Negeri Sembilan Police Contingent headquarters, were detained at 2.30pm at a restaurant near here.

“They were detained together with evidence relating to a case worth RM1,500. The case involves the sale of cars which were seized without filing in a police report and were later re-sold,” the statement said.





According to the MACC, the cloned vehicles had already been sold and the suspects were brought by the MACC to seize cloned cars still in their custody.

The three suspects are expected to be brought to the Seremban Magistrate’s court tomorrow to be remanded. However, when contacted, State Police Chief Jaafar Mohd Yusof could not confirm the arrests.
