Minister says the government can no longer answer questions on the donation issue or SRC International following Bar Council’s judicial review against AG.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government can no longer answer questions on the RM2.6 billion donation and SRC International as it could be sub judice, said Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman today.

She said the Bar Council was seeking a judicial review against Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali to clear Prime Minister Najib Razak of any wrongdoing in the RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million SRC International cases.

“This is because there is an originating summons filed in the High Court (Appellate and Special Powers) by the Bar Council against the Attorney-General on March 14, 2016,” she said in a statement to the press today.

“In view of current developments, the government can no longer answer questions on the issue in Parliament because it is subject to Standing Order 23 (1)(g) .”

The Standing Order states: 23. (1) Every question shall conform to the following rules: (g) A question shall not be so drafted as to be likely to prejudice a case under trial, or be asked to any matter which is sub judice.”
